Abstract

McNelly's (2026) reply does not address my central claim that passive revolution is "a necessary but insufficient framework" (Sánchez Flores, 2026, p. 7). He answers the citation gap, defends transformism, clarifies concrete time, and acknowledges the omission of the popular economy, but does not engage the genealogical reading that underpins the claim. McNelly (2026, p. 3) interprets genealogy as the tracing of lineages, implying that a more extensive historical account constitutes stronger evidence — hence his emphasis on having "traced 500 years of history" (2026, p. 3). This diverges from both the meaning of genealogy in my critique and Foucault's (2003, p. 7) definition of it as the "insurrection of subjugated knowledges."
