ABOUT US

Exchanges: the Warwick Research Journal is a peer-reviewed online journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality work by researchers in all disciplines, including  early career researchers, or those combining research with academic teaching or other professional employment. The journal welcomes articles from all academic areas, including interdisciplinary research and co-authored papers, in order to encourage intellectual exchange and debate across research communities.

The journal is edited by early career researchers at the University of Warwick and published bi-annually, using the latest journal software. It provides both editors and authors with a readily accessible and supportive environment in which to develop academic writing and publishing skills of the highest order.

The journal is Open Access and without a fee.

A Call for Papers is released in April and October each year, at the same time as each new issue is published. This means that there is a typical 6-month period from submission to publication, which can be a distinct advantage for researchers. Prospective authors are invited to read the Guidance for Authors documents before submitting and selected submissions will undergo a rigorous peer review process.

Peer Review Process

Research articles published in this journal are subject to a double blind peer-review process before acceptance.  Articles are typically sent to two peer reviewers - one experienced researcher and one early career researcher, as part of our publishing skills development scheme.  Our Guidelines for Peer Reviewers are available for consultation.

Critical reflections and 'Exchanges' are not usually subject to peer-review.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content under the conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 UK: England & Waleslicense on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
